Mike Quinn was named president of Southwest Water’s Utility Group in July 2003, capping a career of more than 30 years at Suburban Water Systems, the largest of five regulated utilities that comprise the group.
Mr. Quinn’s long career with Suburban began in 1970, when he signed on with the company as a meter reader. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business management from California State University at Fullerton, he moved into Suburban's accounting department and worked his way up to the position of controller/treasurer in 1981. In 1985, Mr. Quinn left Suburban to manage ECO Resources, Inc., one of Southwest Water's contract services subsidiaries. In 1992, he returned to Suburban to assume the role of chief operating officer and, in 1996, president.
Among his water industry affiliations, Mr. Quinn is president of the California Water Association, a vice president of the National Association of Water Companies board and a director of the boards of Covina Irrigating Company and the California Domestic Water Company. He is also immediate past chairman of the Citrus Valley Health Foundation board. |
