Michael N. Piergrossi is Vice President of Human Resources for W. R. Grace & Co. He is a member of Grace's senior executive team and provides functional leadership to Grace's HR staff around the world. His primary interests are in developing and leading HR processes designed to identify and develop leadership talent, and to develop programs that enable Grace to be a growth-oriented, challenging and rewarding work place.
Mike has more than twenty years of human resources experience with Grace starting as a plant personnel administrator in the company's packaging unit facilities in Reading, Pennsylvania and Indianapolis, Indiana. He transferred to Grace Construction Products, the company's concrete admixtures, cement additives, waterproofing and fire protection materials business, in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1981. He held management positions in training and development, compensation and benefits and, in 1993, he became Vice President of Human Resources and Organization Development for the Grace Construction Products worldwide business. In December 1998, he assumed additional responsibility for the human resource function in Darex Container Products, Grace's coatings and sealants business. In 1999 he relocated to Columbia, Maryland to join the Grace corporate executive team as Vice President of Leadership and Organization Development, and in 2001 he was promoted to his current position.
Before joining Grace, Mike was an educator in the Pennsylvania public school system, where he led successful work-study programs benefiting special needs students.
He graduated from Kutztown University with a B.S. degree in education/economics. He earned an M.Ed. from Millersville University.
