Mr. McKinstry concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, lending, and business transactions. He has represented local, national, and international clients in connection with purchases, sales, tax deferred exchanges, leases, subdivision and development matters, loans, foreclosures and workouts involving office buildings, office and industrial parks, residential and mixed use developments, shopping centers, hotels, ski areas, golf courses, and entertainment complexes, and has represented clients in connection with asset and stock purchase and sale transactions. He represented the Denver Metropolitan Major League Baseball Stadium District with respect to its real estate matters in connection with Coors Field. Mr. McKinstry has practiced with Fairfield and Woods since 1974. Mr. McKinstry lectures frequently on real estate and lending topics at professional and industry seminars. He is a member of the University of Colorado Real Estate Council. He is listed in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the West, and Oxford's Who's Who. While in law school, Mr. McKinstry was elected to the Order of the Coif. Following law school he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert H. McWilliams, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Judicial Circuit. Mr. McKinstry was born in Waterloo, Iowa. He enjoys golfing, sailing, scuba diving, travel, and coaching his children's sports teams. |
