Mike Meyer practices principally in the area of business financial reorganization, including chapter 11 bankruptcy, out-of-court workouts, creditors remedies and related commercial litigation. Recent chapter 11 debtor clients include Mesaba Aviation, Inc. (Mesaba Airlines), Eveleth Mines, LLC (Evtac), Paper Warehouse, Inc, Phenix Biocomposites, Inc. and Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Co. He also represented the Asbestos Claimants Committee in the API, Inc. chapter 11 case. In addition to representing debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases, Mike has represented clients in acquiring businesses which are under bankruptcy court jurisdiction. He has successfully represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, both in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy courts. Mike is a frequent lecturer at programs sponsored by Minnesota Continuing Legal Education and Minnesota Institute of Legal Education and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. Mike received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in 1971 and his law degree from the University of Minnesota, Cum Laude, in 1974. Prior to founding the firm, Mike was an associate and then partner with the firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi (1975-91). |
