Experience:
Michael Cypers is a highly effective corporate attorney and trial lawyer who represents leading enterprises across a broad variety of national and international legal actions. He has successfully advised clients in the course of class action, professional liability, and regulatory disputes, and he provides ongoing counsel to major organizations in the financial and professional services and information technology industries. Michael is one of the few lawyers to try a class action to jury verdict, successfully, and has tried a total of four financial statement fraud, conspiracy, or negligence cases to juries, successfully. Michael is involved in several of the largest financial statement restatement cases, both before and after Enron, including the Enron matter. Michael also provides extensive SEC experience on behalf of auditor and issuer clients.
Michael has practiced corporate law and litigation on a national scale for more than 25 years. He is based in the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown, where he serves as Litigation Office Practice Leader. He is an adjunct professor at Boalt Hall School of Law, the University of California at Berkeley, where he delivers courses in securities litigation and advanced civil litigation.
