Michael Corrigan has more than 27 years of experience designing, implementing, and directing telecommunications and information systems, including the Integrated Federal Telecommunications System, the Defense Message System, and the Defense Data Network.
Prior to joining Suss Consulting, Mr. Corrigan spent 4 years as the Vice President, Telecommunications, within the EDS Government Information Group. His responsibilities included overseeing the design of voice communications systems and multimedia metropolitan area networks for several government organizations. He also represented EDS on the Navy's IT-21 enterprise management Industry Advisory Group.
Mr. Corrigan also spent 25 years in the public sector before joining EDS, including 6 years as the Assistant Commissioner for Telecommunications in the General Services Administration. While in this position, he oversaw the FTS2000 contract from its award through implementation. He also managed local telecommunications services in GSA-owned, multi-tenant government buildings.
Mr. Corrigan moved to the GSA from the Defense Department, where he served in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (C3I) as Special Assistant for Integrated Digital Architecture. His responsibilities here included planning the digitization and integration of DoD voice, data, and video communications systems. He led the inter-service working group that developed the plan for the Defense Message Systems, and served as the first chair of the Internet Engineering Task Force.
Mr. Corrigan also served within DoD as the Technical Manager of the Defense Data Network (DDN), which was the military component of the Internet. He developed the security architecture for the network and co-authored the DDN program plan.
