Mike Burroughs serves DHR International as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the firm’s St. Louis office. He manages a thriving, national search practice in a variety of industries. He is Co-Leader of DHR’s Aerospace, Defense and Electronics Industry Sector and a member of the firm’s Healthcare, Medical Technology, Industrial and Nonprofit practice groups. He also serves on DHR’s Executive Committee. His search experience includes assignments at all levels of senior management in a variety of industries. Mr. Burroughs brings 33 years of diverse management, consulting and sales experience to his clients. Prior to joining DHR, Mr. Burroughs was Vice President of Organization Development for a division of ARAMARK. He held a similar position for a division of American Express, and also served as a sales executive with First Data Corporation. Prior to that he held executive positions in program management, business development, business planning, human resources, and organization development for two divisions of McDonnell Douglas. In addition, he was COO for a healthcare contract services company and has prior search experience with two regional, boutique firms. Mr. Burroughs earned a national reputation as an executive development consultant specializing in professionals holding leadership positions. He has developed and/or coached over 1,000 people. Before entering the private sector, Mr. Burroughs spent 12 years as an Army officer. He was a company commander on two occasions and served in a variety of battalion staff and General Staff Officer positions, culminating his active duty service as the head of leadership and professional ethics instruction at a professional development program for mid-career officers. He went on to complete a distinguished career in the Army Reserve, retiring after 29 total years of service as a colonel. Mr. Burroughs has been married for 36 years to his wife, Janice, a middle school gifted education teacher. They have two grown sons: one is an entrepreneur, and the other is a Navy pilot. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in public administration, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. His hobbies include flying, sailing, fly-fishing, and playing his many guitars.
