Currently, Dr. Balick is an adjunct professor at the City University of New York and the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University. He is also an adjunct senior research scientist at the Center for Environmental Research and Conservation at Columbia, and honorary research associate at the National Tropical Botanical Garden. He is a recent winner of the Janaki Ammal Medal for Ethnobotany from the Society for Ethnobotany.
Based on years of expertise and original research, Dr. Balick has authored and edited 14 books and numerous scientific papers, including his most recent book, "Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Belize" (New York Botanical Garden Press, 2000). He has also collaborated with Dr. Paul Cox to publish the book "Plants, People, and Culture". |
