Real Estate
Michael Klein is a member at Shaw Gussis Fishman Glantz Wolfson & Towbin LLC practicing in the firm's Real Estate Department. He concentrates his practice on commercial real estate transactions of all types, including acquisitions, dispositions, lending, leasing and development work. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Klein was a senior counsel at Abbott Laboratories. While at Abbott, Mr. Klein was responsible for all of Abbott’s domestic and international real estate transactions and was the commercial counsel for a number of its businesses. Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Klein was an associate with the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP. While at Sidley, Mr. Klein worked on several complex transactions, including the refinancing of a significant amount of debt using synthetic leases for a large communications company, the origination and subsequent securitization of numerous conduit loans, the sale by a national utility company of its coal producing power plants and the separation of a national utility company’s power generation business from its distribution and transmission business.
