Mike Allan joined Praxair as vice president and treasurer in 2000. Previously, Allan had brief assignments in the venture capital and internet industries. From 1992 to 1997, he was vice president and treasurer of James River Corporation (now Fort James), a $6.3-billion global consumer paper products company in Richmond, Virginia. Before joining James River, he spent 16 years with The Toronto Dominion Bank in various senior positions, including managing director of communications finance in both Toronto and New York. Allan holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Bowdoin College.
