Michael Warhol is a Senior Medical Advisor at ITA. His responsibilities include program development, service improvement and, physician communication.
Dr. Warhol served as Chairman of Pathology and Director of Laboratories at Pennsylvania Hospital for 17 years before retiring in 2004. He was also Clinical Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Warhol is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. He is a past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Pathologists.
Prior to coming to Philadelphia, Dr. Warhol was an attending pathologist at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass and a consulting pathologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. He was an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Warhol is the author of three textbooks of pathology and numerous scientific articles. He served as editor of the Journal of Surgical Pathology. His research has included understanding the molecular basis of cancer and viral causes of cancer.
Dr. Warhol is a graduate of Princeton University (AB) and the University of Pittsburgh (MD) He completed his internship and residency at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Mass. |
