Michael comes to RPI from New Mexico State University, where he was the Executive Director of the Physical Science Institute (PSI). PSI incubates technology companies through early stages of development, commercializes intellectual property, and specializes in entrepreneurial training.
Previous experience includes: President of the Dan River Business Development Center (a business incubator); Vice President of an e-commerce venture; Training and Development Director at Radford University's Business Assistance Center; Coordinator of Business Development Programs at Virginia Tech's Economic Development Assistance Center; university-level business instructor; and entrepreneurship trainer for Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs).
Michael earned a Master of Business Administration and a B.S. in accounting from the University of Montana. In addition to his academic training and teaching experience, he co-authored The Virginia Entrepreneur's Guide and has practical knowledge by way of starting and managing two successful small businesses. |
