Experience
Michael joined the Litigation Practice and Intellectual Property Groups in 2006. Michael focuses his practice on patent prosecution, counseling, and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Sullivan’s prosecution and counseling practices focus on the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical areas. His prosecution experience includes preparation of new applications, U.S. and foreign prosecution, infringement and validity opinions and due diligence in practice areas such as immunology, genetics, virology, and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Sullivan’s litigation experience includes a broad array of intellectual property litigation including, patent, copyright and trademark litigation.
Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Michael was an associate at Darby & Darby in New York City where he worked in the areas of patent and copyright litigation. Michael was also a summer associate at Darby & Darby in 2002. During his last year of law school, Michael clerked at the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture in Concord, New Hampshire. Prior to law school, Michael worked as a research scientist for various companies in the papermaking industry.
Education
Michael has a B.A. in Chemistry from St. John's University, an M.S. in Paper Science Engineering-Biochemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology and a J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center.
