Mr. Student has a strong international practice, assisting clients in a broad range of commercial endeavors that span mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, cross-border transactions, licensing and strategic alliances. He regularly counsels emerging growth companies and established enterprises in the technology sector. Mr. Student also advises foreign companies looking to establish or expand in the United States.
Since the mid-1980s, Mr. Student has been active representing Finnish clients. He has significant experience helping Finnish and other non-U.S. businesses to expand internationally.
Representative Matters
o Represented an IT outsourcing and specialty software company in entering the U.S. market through acquisition of a niche software provider and separate establishment of multiple U.S. operating locations.
o Assisted technology design house/software developer in multiple development and licensing transactions with major players in the mobile device, service and manufacturing sectors of the telecommunications market.
o Represented an international wireless internet security software provider in the sale of a major part of its assets to a U.S. public company.
o Represented an emerging technology company with a spin-off of its global positioning satellite business and venture capital financing for the new enterprise.
o Assisted an international construction company with hotel, manufacturing plant, wastewater treatment and transportation facility projects in Russia.
