Dr. McDonald is a principal and co-office director in the Cambridge, Massachusetts office. He has over 14 years of experience in litigation consulting. Dr. McDonald has advised clients and provided analyses supporting expert testimony in antitrust; class certification; intellectual property; complex commercial litigation including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and false advertising; and public policy matters. He has directed and conducted a wide range of complex quantitative and qualitative analyses often requiring a large team of professionals and coordination of multiple parties. These analyses have been presented in federal and state courts, before arbitration panels, and before regulatory agencies including the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Federal Communications Commission. The quantitative analyses include econometric analysis for the purpose of market definition, determination of competitive effects, and estimation of impact and damages, financial analysis including discounted cash flows, and analysis of large transactional databases. Dr. McDonald's consulting experience includes a wide range of industries such as aluminum, building products, commercial aircraft, department stores, food and beverages, lawn and garden products, animal feed, medical equipment, petroleum, printing equipment, pulp and paper, security and detection equipment, telecommunications, and vitamins. Dr. McDonald received his PhD in economics from George Mason University and has published in the fields of antitrust and public choice economics. |
