Mr. Havala is Chief Financial Officer of First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc. He co-founded First Industrial and is responsible for all financial aspects of the Company, including overall financial strategic planning, capital markets, investor relations, financial reporting and information technology. Mr. Havala has orchestrated equity and debt capital raising programs totaling several billion dollars from both public and private investors, domestically and internationally. He has developed a number of innovative capital-raising structures while leading First Industrial to a 5-fold growth in its capital base since its IPO in 1994. He has been quoted in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Real Estate Finance Journal, and Commercial Property News.
Mr. Havala joined the predecessor of First Industrial, The Shidler Group, in 1989 and was Chief Financial Officer for The Shidler Group's Midwest region. He was previously a senior tax consultant with Arthur Andersen & Company, specializing in real estate, banking and corporate finance. Mr. Havala is a certified public accountant. His professional affiliations include the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
Mr. Havala earned his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Michigan State University, graduating with High Honors. |
