Mr. Gates was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and graduated from the University of Denver's LaMont School of Music before graduating in the top 15% of his class at the University of Denver College of Law (1999) . He is a member of the Executive Council of the Denver Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division and is the former Assistant Treasurer for the Thompson G. Marsh Inn of Court. Mr. Gates is also an active member of the Defense Research Institute, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, and the Colorado Bar Association. He has a broad range of experience in civil litigation, employment law, commercial litigation, construction defects, and insurance coverage disputes, including experience with high profile cases. His current practice focuses on civil defense, including employment and civil rights, professional malpractice, and premises liability. In addition, he continues to practice in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance coverage. |
