Michael J. Connelly is a Senior Advisor to the Telecom & Media team. He is based in New York. Between 2002 and 2006, Mr. Connelly served as a Managing Director in the U.S. Buyout group. He played key roles in a number of recent investments including VNU N.V. (now The Nielsen Company), Insight Communications, Loews Cineplex Entertainment (now AMC Entertainment) and Pan Am Sat.
Prior to joining Carlyle in 2002, Mr.Connelly spent more than 25 years in the investment banking and banking industries in the communications sectors. He served as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He began his career at The Bank of Boston and The First Boston Corporation focusing in media and financial restructurings.
Mr. Connelly received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University. He has previously served on the Boards of Directors of Pan Am Sat and Videotron Telecom, and is currently serving on the boards of AMC Entertainment and Insight Communications. |
