Born in Germany, Michael came to the U.S. as an infant. His family lived near Buffalo International Airport and some of Michael's earliest memories were of spending Sunday afternoons at the airport watching the planes. His dream to fly became a reality in 1978 with his first flight lesson. He was immediately hooked".
In two short years, he had all of his ratings except the A.T.P. (Airline Transport Pilot) and had landed a position as 1st officer flying a King Air and a MU2. His hobby was now a career and with that change, he left his firefighter/EMT position of ten years with the Boardman, Ohio Fire Department. Since 1978 Michael has accumulated over 14,000 hours. He is a charter pilot, and has been a corporate pilot and also a commuter airline pilot. He currently holds an Airline Transport License for single engine and twin-engine airplanes and is a FAA-designated Check Airman for the company. During 2005, Michael received his type rating in a Beechjet 400 and a 747, which he is now flying. He has worked tirelessly growing Castle and Northstar and promoting aviation in general. He was on the Air Charter Committee of the National Air Transportation Association since 1997, the chairman of the air cargo sub-committee from 2001until he was nominated to be on the board of directors. Michael was voted in at the May 2005 annual meeting and is now serving a 3-year term.
He resides in the City of Green with his wife Hilda, and their "child": a longhaired Chihuahua. |
