Michael H. Goldstein is a senior shareholder of ST&G. His more than twenty years of experience have been focused on representing debtors in a variety of industries, including chemicals, finance, healthcare, hospitality, high-tech printing, real estate, and retail; bondholders; creditors; committees; and purchasers of distressed assets. Mr. Goldstein is currently representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in both the Azabu Buildings chapter 11 case (pending in Honolulu) and the Ownit Mortgage Solutions chapter 11 case (pending in Los Angeles). He is also currently representing various distressed funds in connection with pending restructuring matters. Recent engagements have included representing Hawaiian Holdings in the restructuring of Hawaiian Airlines, Clark Retail in its chapter 11 restructuring, the landlord for Sydran Services, LLC (the second largest Burger King franchisee), the Creditors Committee in O'Sullivan Industries, and the purchaser of the Fantastic Sams salons. Mr. Goldstein is a Contributing Author, Collier on Bankruptcy, Chapter 9 (Municipal Bankruptcies), and authored: "Res Judicata Strikes Twice," 21-8 American Bankruptcy Institute Journal (October 2002). He is an active participant in chapter 11 related conferences, including panels at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, the national conferences of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, and the International Council of Shopping Centers; and a variety of regional conferences. Topics on which Mr. Goldstein has lectured include: second lien; sub prime lending; conflicts of interest; litigating confirmation issues; valuation; expert testimony; compensation of professionals; and executory contracts in retail chapter 11 cases.
