H. Michael Gibson is the Vice President of Maintenance for SkyWest Airlines. Mike came to SkyWest Airlines in 1982 as the director of quality assurance and was promoted to vice president of maintenance in 1987. Mike brought to SkyWest a wide variety of experience from the airline industry. He worked for the U.S. Navy, Overseas National Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, US Civil Service, Southern Airways, Hawaiian Air Cargo and Zantop International Airlines. Mike’s experience included line maintenance for P3, L188, DC9, C130 and C141 aircraft. He has also been involved with the repair and overhaul of aircraft engines. He has held the positions of crew leader, supervisor, base manager, director of quality assurance and liaison with FAA. Mike graduated from South Georgia Tech Studies in Airframe and Power Plant. He also attended numerous aircraft schools, such as L188, DC9, CV640, DHC6, DHC7, EMB110, EMB120, SD360, Metro II and III and Canadair Regional Jet. Mike is an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoys reading and working on cars. Mike and his wife Mary have two daughters and one son and four grandchildren. |
