Mike Mitchell joined ThinkEngine Networks in late 2001 as President and CEO. Mitchell is responsible for setting the company's vision and strategy driving overall execution and leading the ThinkEngine Networks team. Under Mitchell ThinkEngine Networks is establishing itself as a worldwide leader in the advanced voice services market.
A 20-year veteran of the high-tech industry Mitchell has held senior management positions at industry-leading technology companies. Prior to joining ThinkEngine Networks Mitchell served as COO of EPiCON Inc. a start-up company focused on the ASP marketplace. There he was responsible for directing the operational and financial growth of the company successfully negotiating and closing $20 million in venture and private funding and setting the corporate direction. Guiding all areas of the organization he grew the business to establish EPiCON as a leader in the ASP marketplace. Mitchell was instrumental in developing EPiCON's value proposition and successfully positioned the company for acquisition. After an initial investment of $10 million Nortel Networks Inc. acquired EPiCON in September 2000 for $450 million.
Post-acquisition Mitchell assumed the role of President of Nortel Networks Applications Management Solutions Inc. Responsible for this $50 million division of Nortel Networks he first developed then directed a business plan for accelerating the "EPiCON solution" within Nortel and positioned EPiCON products to capitalize on Nortel's strong customer base.
Previously Mitchell spent three years at Bell Atlantic Networks Integration (BANI) a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Atlantic providing full network life cycle services and support to customers across the United States. At BANI Mitchell was responsible for sales and operational delivery organizations with revenues of $220 million.
