Mr. Sexton is an Assistant Practice Group Leader of the Real Estate Practice Group. He represents clients in the sale, acquisition and financing of commercial properties and businesses. He also represents various lending institutions in structuring and negotiating loans (both secured and unsecured). He has counseled clients on the structuring and formation of joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations, and has prepared and negotiated the organizational and governance documents related to these types of entities.
Experience
As part of his transactional practice, Mr. Sexton has drafted and negotiated purchase agreements for the sale of commercial properties and businesses; joint venture agreements; office, industrial, retail and other commercial leases; ground leases; development agreements; reciprocal easement agreements; construction contracts; architect’s agreements; and loan documents.
Mr. Sexton has worked on many projects, including mixed-use developments involving the creation and conveyance of easements with respect to air rights; the sale and acquisition of a variety of industrial properties; the development of retirement care communities; the formation of joint ventures for industrial and manufacturing companies; the acquisition and merger of retailing concerns; and the sale of regional shopping malls.
Mr. Sexton represented the developer of a retirement community in negotiating and closing a $30 million construction loan for Phase II (a 150 unit apartment building) of a retirement community in Virginia. |
