Mike graduated from the University of Wales with an honours degree in Economics. In 1976 after working in a UK insurance company as a graduate trainee Mike joined the Thomas Howell Group (subsequently through a series of mergers to become Crawford & Company). He gained his first experience of international work dealing with hurricane claims in Jamaica in 1980.
In 1982 Mike took the position of Managing Director of THG Malaysia and substantially grew the business. He then went on to establish companies in Sweden Norway and Denmark.
For the period 1992 to 1993 Mike was promoted to the Board in the position of Group Marketing Director and worked to create a corporate identity for the Group. In 1994 Mike returned to Operations as CEO for Europe.
From 1997 to 1999 he took on the position of Managing Director for Global Risks and Business Development. From 1999 to August 2002 Mike performed the role of Regional Managing Director/Senior Vice President with responsibility for all of the Group's UK Operations. Mike's current position is Regional Managing Director for Global Risks and Technical Services in the UK. |
