Michael F. Johnston was elected as a director in October of 2003, and serves on the Corporate Governance and Nominating, and the Human Resources committees.
As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC), Michael F. Johnston is charged with leading the day-to-day operations of the company's global operations, sales, manufacturing, product development, research and development and customer relations. He joined Visteon in September 2000 and reports to Visteon Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter J. Pestillo. Johnston has also served on Visteon's Board of Directors since April 2002.

With nearly three decades of experience in the automotive supplier and aerospace industries, Johnston brings with him extensive expertise in manufacturing, product development, sales and customer relations, and has established a strong track record of delivering on business commitments and improving shareholder value.
Johnston's most recent position was President of E-Business for Johnson Controls, Inc., where he was responsible for launching and growing new e-based businesses, including non-automotive, and using the Internet to support all phases of supply chain and logistics, purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sales.
From 1997 to April 1999, Johnston served as President, North America/Asia Pacific for Johnson Controls' Automotive Systems Group. In this role, he had profit & loss responsibilities for a multi-billion dollar global business including directing an organization of 40,000 employees and 100 plants.
From 1989 to 1996, Johnston held the position of Vice President and General Manager of Johnson Controls' automotive interiors and battery business, which included battery sales to the aftermarket. In this role, he focused on process improvement, cost reduction, dramatic quality improvements, as well as enhanced customer relationships and customer service.
Johnston also has experience in the aerospace industry holding various managerial positions at Micropol, a subsidiary of Northwest Industries. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for Dallas, Texas-based Flowserve Corporation, as well as Whirlpool Corporation.
Johnston holds a bachelor's degree in industrial management from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and a master's degree in business administration from Michigan State University's Executive Program. |
