Michael E. Maroone has been President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company since August 1999 overseeing its day-to-day retail operations. He has served as a Director of the Company since July 2005. He is a second-generation automobile dealer who joined AutoNation in 1997 when it acquired the Maroone Group his former South Florida-based group of dealerships. The group included one of the world's largest Chevrolet franchises as well as Dodge Ford Oldsmobile Jeep and Isuzu franchises making it one of the top 500 privately-held companies in America according to Forbes magazine. Today AutoNation uses the "Maroone" brand as its local-market brand for its South Florida stores. Mike's industry accomplishments include being a past winner of the Ford Motor Co.'s Chairman's Award and a recipient of the "Quality Dealer" award from Time magazine. |
