Mike Williams is senior vice president - Power Operations, Progress Energy. In that role, he oversees all aspects of the company's fossil generation and combustion turbine fleets, system resource planning and plant construction. Williams joined the company in June 2000.
Previously, he was with Central and Southwest Corp., Inc. and subsidiaries for 18 years and served in various positions prior to becoming vice president - Fossil Generation in Dallas.
Williams is actively involved in Communities in Schools (CIS) in Wake County, N.C., a member of the Southeastern Electric Exchange (SEE) Engineering & Operations Executive Committee and is Progress Energy's representative to the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC) Power Generation Committee.
Williams earned a bachelor of science degree in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University. He also completed Louisiana State University's Executive Development Program and graduated from Harvard Business School's Program for Management Development. |
