Michael E. Skindrud is counsel to a wide range of clients, from small emerging technology companies formed to commercialize university research, to large integrated health care systems of hospitals, physicians, and health insurance companies. His transactional practice includes acquisitions and sales of businesses and assets, private and public debt and equity placements, and the negotiation of strategic partner relationships. He regularly advises clients on business structure and related tax issues, corporate governance, technology licensing and transfer, and regulatory compliance, particularly in health care matters. Michael is recognized as one of Wisconsin's leading corporate and mergers and acquisition lawyers by Chambers & Associates, in its Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers for each of the years 2003 through 2007. Michael is a member of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Technology Council. He chairs the firm's health care practice group. He also is a member of the Board of Directors of Godfrey & Kahn, and serves the firm as a member of its marketing and technology committees. Michael received his undergraduate degree in political science with honors from Luther College in 1969, and his law degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1975.
