Michael E. Ray specializes in banking law, commercial finance and lending, treasury services and international trade. He was born in Washington, D.C. Mr. Ray attended Duke University and received his law degree from Vanderbilt University where he was administrative editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. Mr. Ray was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1974. From 1986 to 1990 Mr. Ray served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Altus Bank, FSB. From 1990 to 2002, Mr. Ray was General Counsel and Secretary of Wachovia Bank of Georgia, N.A. and Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Wachovia Bank, N.A. Mr. Ray is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar Associations and the State Bar of Georgia and was a charter member and a past Co-Chairman of the Diversity Program of the State Bar of Georgia. In addition, Mr. Ray serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank Counsel Section of the Georgia Bankers Association.
