Professional Experience
Mr. Young has been a civil trial attorney for over 20 years with particular expertise trying and resolving employment, intellectual property, and business disputes. He serves as the head of the firmīs Labor and Employment Practice Group. Mr. Youngīs employment litigation experience covers the panoply of employment disputes, including claims of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination (sex, race, disability, reverse discrimination, age, etc.), wage and hour (including class action defense), public policy violations and "whistleblower" matters. Mr. Young also supervises workplace investigations and counsels clients on numerous state and federal laws and regulations governing employment.
Mr. Youngīs intellectual property practice includes disputes involving copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, counterfeiting, restrictive covenants such as non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, reverse engineering claims, trade dress, customer and patient lists, and domain name rights. He represents clients engaged in manufacturing, technology, entertainment, food, medicines, distribution, and sales, among others.
Mr. Young is also a professional mediator who has written and lectured on mediation and dispute resolution topics. He is a Fellow with the International Academy of Mediators, and an adjunct professor of law at the University of Southern California Law School, teaching negotiations and mediation. He has resolved numerous disputes in his practice areas of intellectual property and employment.
