Mr. Wortsman was elected as a director on July 26, 2007. He was the president of Univision, the leading Spanish-language media company, from 1997 until his retirement in April 2007. In 2001, Univision created and launched a new Spanish-language station, Telefutura, and Mr. Wortsman gained the additional title of president of the Telefutura Station Group. Shortly thereafter, Univision entered the Puerto Rico market and he added the title of President of Univision Puerto Rico. In 2004, Mr. Wortsman launched Unicine, Univision’s home video division.
Mr. Wortsman began his broadcasting career in 1972 following a stint in the U.S. Navy. He has had 17 years of English-language television sales and management experience at network owned, network affiliated and independent television stations. |
