Michael Weitzman is the Head of Operations and Technology for Citi’s Global Consumer Group (GCG) International businesses. He is responsible for Operations and Technology supporting all credit card, retail banking, and consumer finance businesses in Asia, Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Latin America, and Mexico. He was named to this position in September 2005. The GCG International Operations and Technology is responsible for customer service, transaction services, credit operations, and all technologies required for support of these businesses and their customers. Mr. Weitzman is a member of Citi’s Management Committee.
From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Weitzman was President of the newly formed Citibank (West), FSB, which has approximately 400 retail bank financial centers in California and Nevada. Prior to that, he had been the National Sales and Marketing Director for Citibank North America’s Retail Group. Mr. Weitzman originally joined Citibank in 1981; he held a variety of positions, including Director of Sales and Marketing for Western Europe. In 1999, he left to become an Executive Board Member managing ABN-AMRO’s banking and insurance business in Hungary. He returned to Citibank in 2001.
Mr. Weitzman serves on the Board of Directors for the California March of Dimes and Citibank Banamex USA. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in management from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
