Mr. Orenstein operates his own independent law firm, Michael Orenstein, P.A., practicing exclusively in the area of criminal law. He is "of counsel" to Becker & Poliakoff, P.A. He worked in the Dade State Attorney's office and in the Broward Public Defender's office prior to establishing his private practice. Mr. Orenstein has been lead counsel in 121 jury trials, hundreds of non-jury trials, and over 150 administrative hearings. His work has taken him to 21 counties in Florida in addition to the States of New York; Texas; New Jersey; Georgia; Colorado; Nevada; California; and the District of Columbia. Mr. Orenstein has also been admitted to practice Pro Hac Vice in several Federal jurisdictions including the United States Court - Central District of California; United States Court - Northern District of Illinois and; the United States Court - District of New Jersey. He has also worked abroad in Jamaica and Bermuda with local Barristers. Mr. Orenstein has handled cases in Florida and other States along with Federal cases in Florida and around the United States for clients of Becker & Poliakoff, P.A. and has used his knowledge of the criminal justice system to aggressively represent their interests. Activities & Memberships An active and visible member of the civic and charitable community, Mr. Orenstein is President of Temple Solel, Hollywood, Florida and on the Board of Directors of the Starting Place, Hollywood, Florida. He is a Platelet donor for the American Red Cross and a past board member of the American Jewish Congress, Southeast Region. He is an avid golfer and is Chairman for two Annual Charity Golf Tournaments.
