Description of Practice:
Michael Pruter is a partner in the San Diego office. His expertise is in tax, real estate development and finance. Mr. Pruter is an expert on acquisition, development, leasing and financing of matters associated with regional shopping centers. He also provides expert counsel on a variety of matters relating to office, hotel and residential development. Mr. Pruter's clients include some of the nation's leading real estate developers and investors. As an expert in federal income tax matters, Mr. Pruter routinely advises clients in connection with structuring partnerships, joint ventures and limited liability companies to achieve the optimum income tax result. He has extensive experience in the tax aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency, and the consequences of debt restructuring upon both borrowers and lenders in connection with both judicial and nonjudicial foreclosures, as well as reorganizations involving loan workouts, partnership modifications and bankruptcy proceedings. He has significant experience in all aspects of corporate reorganizations and restructures, as well as in connection with federal and state tax controversies.
Mr. Pruter is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association.
Educational History:
Mr. Pruter received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977 and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 1980. |
