Michael C. Veysey joined Scientific Atlanta in January 2003 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In addition to providing leadership and direction to the company’s domestic and international attorneys, legal staff and outside counsel, he also is a member of the company’s Corporate Management Committee.
Veysey joined Scientific Atlanta following 22 years at Gould Electronics Inc., a subsidiary of Japan Energy Corporation, where he was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He had extensive experience at Gould managing a multi-national corporate law department. His areas of expertise include domestic and international acquisitions and divestitures, government contracts, criminal and civil litigation and environmental proceedings. In addition his experience includes, restructuring and managing multiple discontinued businesses, reducing high exposure legacy liabilities and successfully recovering over $100M in recoveries for the corporation.
His legal career includes Judge Advocate service in the Marine Corps where he served as a certified military judge and trial counsel at military courts-martial and administrative proceedings. He is a retired Colonel, US Marine Corps Reserve.
During his more than two decades at Gould’s headquarters in Ohio, Veysey was an active supporter of Boys Hope/Girls Hope and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Cleveland, OH. He attended Boston College Law School and Regis College in Denver, Colorado. |
