Michael C. Boyd was a co-founder of QVC, Inc., in 1986 and he served as President until his retirement in 1994. He became a Director of SHOP.COM in September 2000.Under his leadership, QVC achieved annual revenues in excess of $1.2 billion, grew to more than 6,000 employees and enjoyed distribution into 50 million television households. Boyd was subsequently a co-founder and President of TeleSpectrum Worldwide, Inc., bringing that company public in 1996. This roll-up of six direct marketing companies soon grew to eight companies with annual revenues of approximately $200 million. He retired from TeleSpectrum in 1998.Prior to QVC, Boyd had an extended career in the direct response industry, holding senior positions at the Franklin Mint and Lillian Vernon Corporations.In addition to SHOP.COM, Boyd currently serves on the governing boards of Smokestoppers, Longport, Inc., and TCIM Services. |
