As executive vice president of Human Resources and Business Services, Mike Peel is responsible for worldwide Human Resources, Travel, Real Estate/Facilities, Corporate Aviation, Health Services, Safety, and Environmental Compliance. He is also a trustee of the General Mills Foundation.
Peel joined General Mills in September 1991.
Prior to joining General Mills, Peel spent 14 years with PepsiCo, Inc. He served as senior vice president, Human Resources for PepsiCo Worldwide Foods (1987 - 1991) and senior vice president, Human Resources for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group (1984 - 1987). He originally joined PepsiCo in 1977 as division Employee Relations director for the Pepsi-Cola Company. Before joining PepsiCo, Peel worked for Triangle Industries for six years, including serving as chief human resource officer for their Rowe International subsidiary.
Peel serves as vice chairman of the Human Resource Policy Association, as well as on the boards of directors of the Select Comfort Corporation, Walker Art Center and Human Resources Executive Council. He is also a member of the President’s Advisory Board on Human Resources and Diversity at Yale University. In 2002, Peel was elected a fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, the highest honor in the Human Resources profession.
Peel received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from James Madison University in 1971 and earned an MBA from Columbia University in 1983. |
