Mr. Peak is vice president of Risk Management & Trading for Marathon Petroleum Company LLC.
Mr. Peak began his career with Marathon Oil Company in 1976 as an analyst in the Operations Research Department. He held various positions in the Planning and Marketing groups including assistant to the president of Corporate Planning. In 1983, he transferred to Houston, Texas, where he worked in the LPG Trading Group and in the Gulf Coast Pipeline Department. In 1987, he was named manager of Crude Oil Supply.
Mr. Peak left Marathon Oil Company in 1989 to join Phibro Inc., as an oil trader. In 2001, he joined Sempra Energy where he served as a commodities trader. In August 2003, Mr. Peak joined Marathon Ashland Petroleum Company LLC* as vice president of Risk Management & Trading. In this position, he is responsible for trading and risk management activities.
A native of Cleves, Ohio, he is a 1976 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in chemical engineering. In 1979, he received an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
He is president of worship2action, an organization that strives to raise awareness of poverty issues and call people to action. Mr. Peak is the honorary national chairperson of the 30 Hour Famine for WorldVision and is actively involved in many relief and development projects in Rwanda. He is also involved with St. Patrick's Foundation in Jamaica and the International Justice Mission.
