Mike focuses his practice on intellectual property and intellectual property litigation. He provides guidance to consumer product companies, chemical and material suppliers, private inventors and universities in matters of patent preparation and prosecution, PCT practice, patent strategies and patent portfolio review, and EP opposition. His practice is also focused in industries such as paper, chemical, material science, polymer, semiconductor and metallurgical. Mike is a member of the American, Ohio and Cleveland Bar Associations. He received his J. D., summa cum laude, and was a member of the Order of the Curia from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. Mike received his Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from The Pennsylvania State University, where he was a NASA Graduate Fellow. In addition, he has an M.S. in inorganic chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He also received a B.S., magna cum laude, in chemistry and physics from The University of Toledo. Mike was a senior scientist at the Procter and Gamble Company in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1998 to 2006. He also was a research associate at the International Paper Company in Cincinnati from 1996-1998. He joined Calfee in 2006. |
