r. Michael A. Lemp is an acknowledged leader in the field of dry eye/ocular surface disease. Over the past three decades, Dr. Lemp has published 185 scientific articles and four books and served on national, international and government advisory boards. He organized and chaired the National Eye Institute/Industry Workshop on Clinical Trials in Dry Eye; this report stands as the worldwide standard for the definition, classification and design of clinical trials for dry eye. His seminal work in the understanding of tear film instability in dry eye states has advanced the knowledge of pathological events in the disease process. After obtaining an MD degree and completing residency training from Georgetown, he served as a Fellow in Corneal Disease at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. |
