Mike Lawler joined Tier in June 2004, upon Tier's acquisition of EPOS Corporation, and he was appointed Senior Vice President, Electronic Payment Processing in July 2004. He is responsible for both our Official Payments Corporation (OPC) and Voice and Systems Automation (VSA) practice. In addition, the VSA practice provides Tier's Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) practice with delivery and support of call center and network infrastructure.
Mr. Lawler has eighteen years experience in the development, implementation, and marketing of Payment Processing, Call Center, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and Internet solutions to both government and private entities.
As a founder of EPOS Corporation, he led the company from its introduction of IVR registration and credit card fee payments for higher education to the leader in this market segment. In addition, he also established the company as a viable vendor for state-of-the-art call center technology implementation and service to government and industry.
During his tenure as President and Chairman of EPOS, he sold a large, non-central division of EPOS in order to better focus on the company's primary business. He then acquired Computer Communications Specialists (CCS), the source of the IVR technology which EPOS provided to its customers. Also, he was instrumental in the merger/acquisition of EPOS by Tier.
