After beginning his practice with the firm in New Orleans, Mr. Golemi moved to Houston in 2005 to open the firm’s Houston office. His litigation practice focuses on maritime, casualty, toxic tort, insurance coverage and products liability law. Mr. Golemi also has experience in business litigation, construction law and litigation, and labor and employment law related matters.He has defended several offshore death cases as well as numerous personal injury cases involving the Jones Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA) and state workers’ compensation statutes. He has also handled platform and oil well property damage litigation, cargo claims, construction defect cases, chemical exposure cases, class action litigation and mass casualty lawsuits. His business litigation experience includes contract disputes, and he has successfully resolved professional employment and non-competition disputes for labor and employment clients.In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Golemi assists clients with review and drafting of offshore contracts, specializing in indemnity and insurance issues. He is also experienced with appellate matters, alternative dispute resolution, and he has recently assisted some of the firm’s energy clients with submitting claims for reimbursement of recovery costs associated with product releases during Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina and Rita.Mr. Golemi joined the firm in 1999 and has practiced before numerous state and federal courts in Texas and Louisiana. |
