Mr. DiPiano was elected to the Company's Board of Directors in December 2002. He is a General Partner of NewSpring Ventures and Managing Partner of NewSpring Capital. Prior to joining NSC, he was Chairman and CEO of Maxwell Systems, a venture-funded software company. He also co-founded four additional venture backed startups, including Alliance One, GEM HR, FemmePharma, MessageLink, and Vytek Wireless. From 1996 until 1998, he was affiliated with Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFG) and their related venture funds. Prior to that, he was the CEO of two operating companies of Chemical Leaman Corporation: QualaSystems, Inc. and NuBulk Services, Inc. In addition to NutriSystem, he serves on the boards of Ecount, Femme Pharma, the Greater Philadelphia Venture Group, Maxwell Systems, Prescient Applied Intelligence (OTCBB: PPID), and University City Science Center. He received a B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
