Dr. Michael A. Cusumano has been a Director since April 2004. Dr. Cusumano is the Sloan Management Review Distinguished Professor of Management and Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management, with a joint appointment in MIT’s School of Engineering. He is also a director of Eliza Corporation (www.elizacorp.com). He serves on the advisory boards of FixStars Corp. (www.fixstars.com) and H-5 Technologies (www.h5technologies.com). He has consulted for more than 50 major companies around the world and advises several other startup software companies. He is the author/co-author of 8 books, including The Software Business (2004), Platform Leadership (2002), Competing on Internet Time (1998), Microsoft Secrets (1995), and Japan's Software Factories (1991).
Dr. Cusumano has a B.A. degree from Princeton University and a PhD from Harvard University. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Production and Operations Management at the Harvard Business School. He has twice been a Fulbright Fellow as well as a Japan Foundation Fellow at the University of Tokyo, and is a recent recipient of the Clarendon Lectures in Management award at Oxford University. |
