Michael A. Colliflower was named as Executive Vice President and General Counsel effective August 30, 2006. He joined HealthMarkets in July 2005 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel - Insurance Operations. He currently serves as a Director and Senior Vice President and General Counsel of The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, Mid-West National Life Insurance Company of Tennessee (based in Texas),and the Chesapeake Life Insurance Company. He also serves as a Director of Fidelity First Insurance Company. He served as the Company's Chief Compliance Officer from August 2005 to March 2007. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Colliflower had served since October 2002 as Senior Vice President and Chief Insurance Counsel for the insurance subsidiaries of Universal American Financial Corp. From August 1996 until October 2002, Mr. Colliflower held various management positions at the Conseco Companies, including Senior Vice President - Legal and Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Colliflower was Chairman of the Compliance Section of the American Council of Life Insurers in 1998-1999. Mr. Colliflower is a director of the Mississippi Life & Health Guaranty Association. Mr. Colliflower received his B.B.A., cum laude, from St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY) and his J.D. from Wake Forest University. |
