Merle Vaughn is the Managing Partner of Lucas Group Legal Division, Los Angeles.
Merle most recently served as Placement Director for Kelly Law Registry and as a Legal Recruiter for Garb Jaffe & Associates placing attorneys laterally within law firms and corporations. Prior to becoming a legal recruiter she practiced corporate law with Cooley Godward LLC and then moved in-house to WOC Products, Inc. as its General Counsel. Merle was the top sales person in the country for Texas Instruments and a member of the 5 Million Dollar Club, was awarded Minority Entrepreneur of the Year by Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordon, is a Past Chair of Los Angeles Mayor’s Minority Business Opportunity Committee, and was on the Contracts Sub-Committee.
She also participates in the Black Women Lawyers Association, and serves on the Board of Harvard Westlake’s Parent Association.
Merle will focus her attention at Lucas Group on placing lateral attorneys including associates, partners, in-house counsel and General Counsel in mid-large law firms and corporations.
Merle received a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from the University of Southern California (USC ) and her JD at University of California Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. While at Boalt, she was a judicial extern for the Honorable Harry Pregerson, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. |
