Meredith J. Ching joined Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. in 1982 as executive assistant-corporate natural resources. In 1986 she was promoted to director-natural resources development. She was named vice president in April 1988.
Before coming to A&B, Ching held the position of financial analyst with the Dillingham Corporation for two years.
Ching is a director and past president of the Land Use Research Foundation and past president of the Hawaii Resort Developers Conference.
Her community involvement has included the boards of Palama Settlement, Neighborhood Justice Center, Child and Family Service, and Special Olympics. She currently sits on the boards of Hawaii Medical Service Association, Kapiolani Health Foundation, Nature Conservancy, YMCA, and the Hawaii Nature Center. In addition, Ching has served as a member of the Mayor's Task Force to develop the Pacific Nations Center, the Governor's Task Force on the Department of Environmental Protection, the State Board of Agriculture, and the City and County of Honolulu Charter Commission.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Stanford University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. |
