Melissa Mitchell, Vice President / Insurance Licensing Supervisor, joined MGL Consulting Corporation in 2007. Ms. Mitchell has over 10 years experience in insurance licensing and compliance, mostly in management positions. She also has deep expertise in dealing with insurance departments, insurance companies, sub-producers/co-brokers and staff at all levels. As the Insurance Licensing Supervisor, Ms. Mitchell is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and workflow of MGL’s insurance licensing staff, training and professional development of team members, development and enforcement of departmental internal controls to ensure the highest quality customer service.Ms. Mitchell is available to consult with clients and prospective clients regarding their resident and non-resident licensing (encompassing all lines of insurance: Property/Casualty, Life/Health, Variable Contracts and Surplus Lines), corporate qualifications, appointment and branch office audit needs. Prior to joining MGL, Ms. Mitchell worked as a Division Vice President for Arthur J. Gallager Risk Management Services, Inc. in Houston, Texas. In this position, she managed a Licensing/CE department overseeing 2,000 corporate and individual licenses. Her breadth of responsibilities included maintaining and updating licensing databases and tracking systems, processing and maintaining company/sub-producer/co-broker contracts, and internal audits of branch offices.During her career she has served as an intermediary between company and third party licensing vendors and worked with Risk Purchasing Group formations, registrations, renewals and amendment filings nationally. Ms. Mitchell has additionally managed regulatory compliance for corporate and CEO licenses, appointments, and Continuing Education. She has supervised Secretary of State Qualifications and annual reports in all states for multiple entities.Earlier in her career, Ms. Mitchell also worked for the Houston Casualty Company where she assisted in commercial property underwritings, scratch policies, endorsements, invoicing and premium reconciliations. Industry experience before this includes working with Surplus Lines, job costing, contract processing, and Stamping Office duties.Ms. Mitchell is a graduate of the Texas School of Business and has been a member of the Securities & Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) for eight years. |
