Melissa Carter is a graduate of South Texas College of Law where she received American Jurisprudence awards for highest grades in Family Law, Contracts, Criminal Law, Torts, Property, and Evidence; was a member of the Law Review; and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Before pursuing her legal career, she received a degree in Business Finance and worked as an analyst in the banking industry. She was licensed in 2005 and practiced commercial litigation until she joined Looper Reed & McGraw's family law section in November 2006. She concentrates her practice on divorce proceedings, marital property characterization, valuation and division, pre-marital and post-marital agreements, child support modifications, custody and visitation rights modifications, enforcement of court orders and adoptions.
