Ms. Melissa Porter is Select Staffing’s Chief Sales Officer. Ms. Porter is a staffing industry professional with over 25 years of experience in sales and operations management.
Ms. Porter began her career at Volt Temporary Services as a Sales Specialist. In 1990, she launched her own temporary service, opening The Office Professionals in Upland, California. After five years of successful sales, The Office Professionals was acquired by Select Staffing. Ms. Porter was asked to join the Company in 1995 as Regional Manager of the Upland and San Bernardino branch offices, continuing operations with her existing staff and sales force.
In less than two years, the Upland branch office surpassed all sales records to become the top-producing office in the Company’s history, hitting weekly gross margin records of over $70,000. During Ms. Porter’s Regional Manager tenure, she personally spearheaded five business acquisitions that were added to her Inland Empire region.
In 1999, Ms. Porter was promoted to Vice President of Sales. Her forte of acquiring large-scale accounts led the Company to focus on promoting sales and client services, particularly with large vendor-on-premise customers. Since joining the Company, Ms. Porter has doubled Select Staffing’s number of vendor-on-site accounts to over 200 accounts that currently have on-site staff representation and/or on-site electronic timekeeping and attendance systems.
After the successful acquisition of Remedy Intelligent Staffing and the transition of all of its hundreds of clients, Ms. Porter was promoted to Chief Sales Officer in 2006.
In addition to Ms. Porter’s responsibilities of overseeing the Company’s sales force, she also manages the Corporate Client Data Services (CDS) Department. Her team of Customer Services Representatives and Implementation Specialists handle all aspects of TYmetrics, the Company’s On-Site Workforce Management System. Ms. Porter’s staff handles the set-up of time clock systems, payroll, training, management, database maintenance, and general support for all on-site accounts.
Ms. Porter attended Syracuse University in New York, where she received a B.A. Degree in Psychology. |
